The Hightimers Presents: Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat
The well loved musical begins with a Narrator discovering an old book and recounting the tale of Joseph, Jacob’s favourite son. Gifted a splendid multi-coloured coat, Joseph’s dreams of ruling his brothers spark jealousy, leading them to sell him into slavery in Egypt.
There, Joseph rises in Potiphar’s household but is falsely accused and imprisoned. His gift for interpreting dreams brings him before Pharaoh, where he predicts seven years of plenty followed by seven years of famine. Elevated to a position of power, Joseph oversees Egypt’s preparations.
When famine strikes, his brothers come seeking food, unaware of his identity. After testing their integrity, Joseph forgives them and reunites with his family, bringing Jacob to Egypt in a joyful reconciliation.

The Hightimers were founded in 1985 by a group of people who still play a part within the group till this day. The name comes from the group’s connection to Boroughbridge High School where the group first started to perform shows, however, after performing in a number of locations, due to unforeseen circumstances, the Hightimers have finally settled and perform from the Coronation Hall in Boroughbridge, Milby which is owned by the Parish Church and the hall hosts other events when The Hightimers are not performing.
The Society has strong connections with the community. As we are a self-funding organisation some of the profits from shows and events go toward donations to local charities and organisations, supporting their goals for the district. The Hightimers are supported by local businesses which is vital as production aspirations grow.
For over 35 years, The Hightimers have brought laughter, suspense, and entertainment to audiences of all ages. So, come along, let go of the real world, and enter the magic of the theatre with The Hightimers!

All Members of the Society are involved in all aspects of theatre production, from script writing to front-of-house, set design to choreography, musical arrangement to lighting design, and of course, performing. Anyone in the Boroughbridge & District area is invited to join, contribute, and learn in any role within the Society.
With a strong focus on the social side, The Hightimers encourage teamwork and discipline. From pre-production, through rehearsals, performances, and the final breaking of set, the Society is a place to have fun and work hard, all to bring together the finest of shows.
